John Henry Goldfrap
John Henry Goldfrap (1879–1917) was an English-born journalist who became one of the most prolific storytellers of America's early twentieth-century boys' book boom. His serial adventures captured a generation's hunger for courage, gadgetry, and the open road — wireless operators at sea, cadets aboard dreadnoughts, scouts on the range, motor rangers crossing the Sierras. Series such as the Ocean Wireless Boys, Dreadnought Boys, and Boy Scouts of the Eagle Patrol delivered cliffhangers, teamwork, and clean-limbed heroism volume after volume. Goldfrap wrote with pace, invention, and an instinct for what young readers wanted next: one more mission, one more mystery, one more test of pluck.
