Description

In The Boy Aviators in Record Flight: The Rival Aeroplane by John Henry Goldfrap, Frank and Harry Chester, urged by reporter Billy Barnes, enter a high-stakes cross-country aviation race from New York to San Francisco. Competing against rival pilots and a competing newspaper prize, they face sabotage, mechanical risks, and intense rivalry. Determined and inventive, the boys push early aviation limits in a daring quest for victory.

Author

John Henry Goldfrap (1879–1917) was an English-born journalist who became one of the most prolific storytellers of America's early twentieth-century boys' book boom. His serial adventures captured a generation's hunger for courage, gadgetry, and the open road — wireless operators at sea, cadets aboard dreadnoughts, scouts on the range, motor rangers crossing the Sierras.
