Description

Benjamin Bunny marries Cousin Flopsy; their improvident children, the Flopsy Bunnies, sleep among Mr. McGregor's lettuces and wake in his sack. Mrs. Tittlemouse gnaws them free and rubbish goes in instead, to the gardener's surprise. Potter's garden comedy of appetite, a mouse ally, and a narrow escape from the rows.

Author

Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) gave the world Peter Rabbit, then spent a lifetime proving she was more than a nursery name. A Victorian girl who drew what she saw — animals, plants, the texture of a garden wall — she made books in which every cabbage and jacket button earns its place. Later she became Mrs Heelis of the Lakes, a sheep farmer and a fierce guardian of countryside.
