Johanna Spyri

Johanna Spyri (1827–1901) wrote Heidi, the Swiss mountain story that made alpine air a moral climate. A Zürich pastor's daughter, she turned goats, grandfathers, and city rooms into a plot of homesickness and recovery that children still climb.
