Description

Mischievous Tom Kitten slips into trouble with two very large rats who mean to turn him into a dumpling. They butter him, roll him in dough, and leave a kitchen far less cosy than it looked. Beatrix Potter’s tale of curiosity meeting appetite — and of a pudding that almost walked away on four paws.

Author

Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) gave the world Peter Rabbit, then spent a lifetime proving she was more than a nursery name. A Victorian girl who drew what she saw — animals, plants, the texture of a garden wall — she made books in which every cabbage and jacket button earns its place. Later she became Mrs Heelis of the Lakes, a sheep farmer and a fierce guardian of countryside.
