Description

The Photoplay: A Psychological Study is a pioneering work of film theory exploring how cinema shapes the human mind. Münsterberg argues that film is a distinct art form rather than recorded theatre. He examines how cinematic devices such as close-ups, editing, and flashbacks directly mirror mental processes like attention, memory, and emotion. Through these techniques, the medium transforms physical reality into a unique psychological experience.
