Description

An ancient Syriac chronicle, in Budge’s English, that claims to carry secret knowledge God gave Adam and Noah sealed in a cave before the Flood. From Creation through Exodus it braids biblical legend with angelic revelation, moral teaching, and early Christian mysticism. Useful if you want the feel of that forgotten manuscript tradition: how sin, redemption, and divine disclosure were told outside the familiar canon. Spoken as sacred history with texture you can actually follow.

Author

E. A. Wallis Budge (1857–1934) was Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum and a prolific translator of Near Eastern sacred narrative. The Book of the Cave of Treasures is one door into that workshop: Syriac legend, biblical history retold as treasure and lineage. His Victorian energy put a museum's hinterland into English for a wide public.
