Description

Karma yoga is the path of selfless action. It is the practice of performing actions without attachment to the results, or ego. This type of yoga teaches that we are all connected and that our actions have an effect on others. By performing our actions with the intention of helping others, we can create a positive impact in the world. Read in English, unabridged.

Author

Swami Vivekananda (1863–1902) was born Narendranath Datta in Calcutta, became the foremost disciple of Ramakrishna, and in 1893 walked onto the platform of the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago as a world voice for Vedanta. Karma Yoga is the practical book of that mission: action without clinging, the street as ashram. He founded the Ramakrishna Mission and died young, having made Indian philosophy a public language in the West.
