Description

Polly Milton, a young country girl, is overwhelmed by the splendour during the visit to her cousin Fanny Shaw and her wealthy family in the city. Author

Louisa May Alcott is a renowned American author and poet, best known for her semi-autobiographical novel Little Women. She was a prodigious writer of both fiction and non-fiction, and was an active participant in the Transcendentalist movement. Her works were greatly influenced by the social change that occurred during the 19th century in America, particularly in regards to women's rights.
