Lao Tzu

Lao Tzu — Laozi, the Old Master — is the name on the Tao Te Ching, a short Chinese classic of the Way, softness, and the art of not forcing. Biography is mostly legend: a keeper of archives who rode west and left a book at the pass. Scholars argue over the person; the poems do not mind. Three titles here, including facing-text English. The verses are brief; the afterlife of the book is not.
