Jalal al-Din Rumi

Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207–1273) was a Persian Sufi mystic and poet whose Masnavi and lyrics remain among the world's most loved spiritual literature. Forced west by Mongol advance, he settled in Konya and founded the Mevlevi tradition of whirling devotion. Rumi wrote of love as the path to the divine — intimate, ecstatic, and endlessly quotable in translation. The Masnavi in our catalogue opens that ocean of parable and longing.
