Disney’s “Cruella” debuted in theaters on Friday, as moviegoers return to theaters this Memorial Day weekend. But if you plan on staying in for the holiday, you can watch the film from home with Disney+ Premier Access.
Emma Stone stars as Cruella De Vil in the highly anticipated live-action film, which is a reboot of the classic “101 Dalmatians.” Directed by Craig Gillespie, “Cruella” is set in 1970s London and details how Estella (Stone) transforms from aspiring fashion designer into the nefarious dognapper. The cast includes Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong.
Disney+ members can stream “Cruella” on the platform for an additional $29.99 (on top of the $7.99 monthly fee). That’s around the same price that you would pay for a pair of movie tickets (and maybe a small popcorn), but it doesn’t mean that you have to choose between the two. For those who have been missing that movie theater experience, you can watch “Cruella” on the silver screen and then stream it at home as much as you want.
If you’re not signed up to Disney+, join today for just $7.99 a month, or $79.99 year. The subscription offers up an endless stream of entertainment, including Disney classics and original series and movies, Marvel epics, “Star Wars” sagas, and tons more.
To watch “Cruella” from your TV or another streaming device, you’ll need to sign into Disney+ and select the Premier Access title on the home screen. Next, select “unlock now” (new films that are up for pre-order will be listed as such) and confirm the order using your stored payment information, or enter a new payment method. Once the payment is accepted, you’ll return to the main screen where you select “play” to begin streaming the film. You can host a “Cruella” streaming party with GroupWatch, which lets you virtually stream Premier Access films with your personal friends and family through the Disney+ app (as long as all participants are active Disney+ subscribers and have unlocked Premier Access for that particular movie).
Every movie offered through Premier Access will be available for an extra $29.99, and if you’re a Disney+ subscriber you can rewatch it over and over again.
“Cruella” follows the successful release of “Raya and the Last Dragon,” another Premier Access release. The new film arrives ahead of Pixar’s “Luca” slated for release on June 18, and Marvel Studios’ long-awaited “Black Widow,” which audiences can catch in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on July 9.
