Description

The Trail of the Serpent is a Victorian sensation novel of murder, deception, and hidden identity. In the town of Slopperton, the brutal killing of a wealthy man casts suspicion on his disgraced nephew, Richard Marwood. As the seemingly respectable school usher Jabez North reveals darker depths, a relentless investigation unfolds. Through rain-soaked streets and intertwined lives, Braddon exposes moral corruption, mistaken guilt, and the sinister truths lurking beneath respectable society.
