Description

Baron Munchausen journeyed many foreign lands and he is the only story teller who's ever travelled to the moon. The book details his travels and gives most accurate account of his fantastical adventures.

Author

Rudolf Erich Raspe (1736–1794) was a German writer and rogue of science whose tall tales became The Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen. What began as satire grew into a folklore of impossible journeys — riding cannonballs, pulling oneself up by the hair, surviving anything. Raspe's Munchausen remains the classic of comic exaggeration: adventure fiction that knows it is lying, and invites you to enjoy the lie.
