Description

The Second Jungle Book includes five further stories about Mowgli, an abandoned man-cub who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The verses of The Law of the Jungle, lay down rules for the safety of individuals, families and communities. As with much of Kipling's work, each of the stories is preceded by a piece of verse, and succeeded by another.

Author

Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) was one of the supreme storytellers in English — a Nobel laureate whose Jungle Books, Kim, and Just So Stories made childhood myth out of British India and the wider imperial world. He wrote with an unmatched ear for speech, rhythm, and craft: animals that argue like people, boys who learn the roads, ballads that stick in the mind.
