Description

Step into the whimsical and thought-provoking world of "The Napoleon of Notting Hill" by G. K. Chesterton. Set in a fantastical future London where monarchy is chosen by lottery, the story follows Auberon Quin, an eccentric king who turns the city into a patchwork of medieval-style city-states. When Adam Wayne, the passionate and idealistic Provost of Notting Hill, takes his local patriotism to fervent heights, humor and conflict abound. Chesterton's satirical tale is a brilliant exploration of individualism, tradition, and the unanticipated power of imagination.

Author

Gilbert Keith Chesterton was an English writer, often referred to as the prince of paradox. Chesterton is well known for his fictional priest-detective Father Brown, and for his reasoned apologetics. Even some of those who disagree with him have recognized the wide appeal of such works as Orthodoxy and The Everlasting Man. Chesterton's wit, paradoxical style, and defence of tradition made him a dominant figure in early 20th-century literature.
