Description

Hapley the entomologist has bested rival Pawkins, and after Pawkins dies the victory will not stay quiet. A moth arrives as if the feud had grown wings, and Hapley's nerves unravel between specimen cases and spite. The man who won the argument must live with what follows him home. Wells turns scientific rivalry into a short haunting where proof and panic trade places.
