Description

The Beasts of Tarzan tells the story of a young man, John Clayton, who is raised in the jungle by gorillas. He learns how to survive in the wild and becomes a powerful hunter. He eventually meets a woman named Jane Porter and falls in love with her. However, he must protect her from the dangers of the jungle, including the beasts that live there.

Author

Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875–1950) invented Tarzan and John Carter and then refused to stop inventing. Jungle, Mars, Pellucidar, lost cities: he built a pulp engine that made adventure unapologetic and wildly popular. Tarzan leapt from novels into comics, film, and merchandising until the ape-man became a global icon; Barsoom gave science fantasy a desert romance and a swordsman's swagger.
