Author

W. B. Yeats (1865–1939) was born in Dublin, helped found the Abbey Theatre, and in 1923 became the first Irish Nobel laureate in literature. The Celtic Twilight gathered folklore as if the sidhe still used the roads; The Wind Among the Reeds is the lyric of that weather — love, occult symbols, a nation coming into verse. Senator, magician, and reviser of his own legends. The later poems grow colder and larger. Ireland remains the ground.
