Description

After the resurrection, Jesus teaches the disciples in private: cosmology, the fall of Pistis Sophia (Wisdom), repentance, and the climb back through the realms. Mead’s translation of a core Gnostic dialogue. Spoken as esoteric scripture for listeners who want the map, not a novel.

Author

G. R. S. Mead (1863–1933) was an English historian and translator who opened Hermetic, Gnostic, and Neoplatonic texts to a modern readership. A prominent Theosophist and later founder of the Quest Society, he treated ancient wisdom as living literature rather than museum dust. Pistis Sophia, his studies of Hermes, and related works in our catalogue show a scholar who wanted the hidden traditions of late antiquity to speak clearly in English.
