Author

Virginia Woolf (1882–1941) grew up at Hyde Park Gate, the daughter of Leslie Stephen, and with Leonard Woolf founded the Hogarth Press — a marriage that was also a publishing house. Mrs Dalloway holds a London day until it rings; To the Lighthouse holds a family, a house, and the years that empty both. Consciousness is the plot. The sentences follow attention the way light follows a wall.
