Description

Neglected by careless parents, Boy is shaped by Miss Leslie and the Major, then drifts through school, Sandhurst expulsion, debt, and fraud before war offers a hard chance at redemption. Friendship, upbringing, and a final sacrificial act close Corelli’s sketch of a spoiled nickname that still has to earn a soul. Spoken as when kindness arrives late and still matters.
