Thomas Wentworth Higginson

Thomas Wentworth Higginson (1823–1911) was a Unitarian minister, abolitionist, and colonel of the First South Carolina Volunteers — a Black Union regiment. Army Life in a Black Regiment is the field record of that command. Harvard-trained, he later corresponded with Emily Dickinson. One title here. The soldier and the man of letters share a sentence.
