St. Ignatius of Loyola

St Ignatius of Loyola (c. 1491–1556) founded the Society of Jesus and wrote the Spiritual Exercises that still guide Jesuit prayer. A soldier turned mystic after a battlefield wound, he taught discernment as a craft of the inner life. Prayer for Trust in Jesus in our catalogue belongs to that tradition of surrender and courage.
