Three Initiates is the collective pen name under which The Kybalion appeared in 1908 — a compact study of Hermetic philosophy that became one of the most widely read occult texts of the modern era. Often linked to the New Thought writer William Walker Atkinson and to esoteric circles interested in Hermes Trismegistus, the book sets out seven principles of mentalism, correspondence, vibration, polarity, rhythm, cause and effect, and gender. Written as if transmitting an ancient teaching, it is as much a product of early twentieth-century occult revival as of classical Hermetica — and it still draws readers seeking a clear map of mystical ideas.
