William Blake

William Blake was an English poet, painter and printmaker. Blake is considered a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age. Blake's work is characterised by expressiveness and creativity as well as many undercurrents of the philosophical and mystical nature. His most notable work includes Songs of Innocence and Experience, (paper back), (eBook). What he called his "prophetic works" were said by the 20th-century critic Northrop Frye to form "what is in proportion to its merits the least read body of poetry in the [English] language".
